Creating a Dedicated API User and Assigning Permission Sets in ESET PROTECT Console

Info
Requirements and limitations
  1. Only the Root or Superuser can create a user with access to API endpoints.
  2. We recommend creating a dedicated API user to separate your regular account from API activities.

  1. Log in as a Superuser (or Root) to your ESET Business Account or ESET Protect Hub.

  2. Go to User management or Users tab and create a new user with the required access rights.

  3. Under Permissions, select Write Access in My Company and Custom for ESET Protect then ele the Integrations toggle to allow API usage.

      4. Click Save to make changes.
      5. The new user will receive an invitation email and must complete the account activation process.

Assign Permissions in ESET PROTECT Web Console

Since ESET PROTECT access was set to Custom, you must configure a Permission Set for the API user:

  1. Log in to the ESET PROTECT Web Console using your Superuser account.
  2. Go to the More tab → Permission Sets.
